Business Process Modelling using BPMN and Business Process Re-engineering
Course Overview
Through a mainly hands-on practical approach, delegates will learn how to model business processes using the Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) and techniques associated with business process modelling. The course will also provide an understanding of the concepts and methods of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and delegates will learn to reengineer/improve business processes also through hands-on practical approach.
The training course is structured to incorporate Business Process Modelling using BPMN and Business Process Re-Engineering. If the Business Process Re-Engineering component is not required the course can be delivered as a 1 day Business Process Modelling using BPMN course.
Course Duration
The course duration is two (2) days - 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

- Learn scoping techniques to be used with business process modelling (i.e. Value Chain Analysis)
- Learn how to model business processes using the BPMN with techniques and standards for the Business layer of the life cycle
- Understand Business Process Reengineering concepts and the differences between Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Business Process Improvements (BPI)
- Understand where Business Process Modelling and BPR/BPI fit into Business Process Management
- Understand the additional activities required for managing these processes (Business Process Management)
- Understand how to use the BPMN Business Process Models to generate Use Cases for system development

Module #1
Enterprise Architectures and Business Process Management (BPM)
Gain an understanding of the interaction between Enterprise Architectures and BPM.
Appreciate where Business Process Modelling fits into the "bigger picture"
Understand the importance of "Organisational Change Management" as a result of initiating change.
Module #2
BPMN Notation Familiarisation
Learn the BPMN symbols and its usage
Module #3
Business Process Modelling using BPMN
Learn scoping techniques.
Learn Business Process Modelling using techniques, guidelines and standards through hands-on exercises done in small groups.
Module #4
Fragmenting Business Processes
Understand and practice fragmentation techniques.
Module #5
Business Process Reengineering/improvements
Benefits Analysis
Analyse current state business processes, reengineer processes and/or improve them. Identify problems and opportunities within an existing business environment and define cost effective business solutions.
Identify and calculate the benefits of the business solutions.
Module #6
Practical Modelling
This module may be optional depending on time constraints.
Associate the Business Process Modelling techniques and guidelines learnt, with specific "real life" examples provided by the delegates. The course instructor will model the business information provided by the attendees.
Exercises using Case Studies
There are numerous hands on exercises in each module. The delegates are set up in teams of three or four where they produce the solutions to the case studies and present them to the rest of the delegates. Each person in the group has an opportunity to present and conduct a workshop for gathering information.

Target Audience
The course is specifically targeted at Business Analysts or those wishing to become Business Analysts.
Pre-requisites
Knowledge and usage of the tools being used.
Course Fee
$975 per person for the 2 day course
$700 per person for a 1 day Business Process Modelling using BPMN Course.
Consultations and discussions with the client to define requirements, customisation and tailoring of the courses are free of charge provided the courses go ahead. If the company decides not to go ahead once the courses have been customised and tailored to meet their requirements, there will be a cost of $2000 charged to the company.
Fees do NOT include 10% GST.
Terms and Conditions
Substitutions can be made at any time.
There is no penalty for cancellations for the course made more than ten full working days prior to the course. Participants who have not given notice of cancellation ten full working days prior to the course will be subject to the entire fee.
